The Benchmark · from £245

Stop guessing what your training needs.

Around three hours of testing and conversation, followed by my interpretation and a clear direction for the next 90 days.

Plenty of people train hard and collect numbers without ever answering the useful question: what should I do differently on Monday? The Benchmark measures the things that matter, puts them in the context of your life and turns the results into a decision.

A physical capacity assessment in progress

What is assessed

Five areas, interpreted together.

The point is to find the one or two things most worth acting on. The numbers are useful because they help decide what matters next.

01

Strength

How much force you can produce and how much reserve that leaves for ordinary tasks.

02

Power

How quickly you can use that strength, not just how much you can produce slowly.

03

Engine

How well you can produce and keep producing work.

04

Movement

Whether you have enough usable movement for what you want to do.

Foundation

Recovery

Whether training is being absorbed or simply added to an already full load.

What happens on the day

Testing, conversation and interpretation.

We talk first. I explain what each test is for, you have time to ask questions and I change the sequence if a test is not sensible for you.

01Goals, history and recoveryUnderstand what you actually want the testing to help with.
02Blood pressure and body measuresUseful context before the harder work starts.
03EngineSubmaximal metabolic assessment.
04Strength, power and movementBalance, jumps, bike power, strength and usable movement.
05DebriefWhat the results mean for you.
06Written reportClear priorities and a 90-day direction, normally within 48 hours.

What you leave with

A clearer next 90 days.

The Benchmark is a decision tool. You leave knowing what looks strong, what may be narrowing and what is actually worth working on next.

The aim is not to turn every result into a problem. Good testing narrows the work rather than creating more of it.
